The City of Rome is searching for a special tree to serve as the City’s community Christmas tree during the upcoming holiday season.
The donated tree must be suitable for use as a community Christmas tree and be located in an area where it can be safely inspected, removed and transported by the City and/or its contractor.
Tree specifications:
Minimum height: 30 feet
Maximum height: 40 feet
Blue spruce preferred, other evergreen varieties will be considered
“With the loss of the Christmas tree at Veterans Park, we found ourselves looking for a new tree last year to carry on the tradition that so many in our community look forward to each holiday season. We were able to use a tree on City property that had been damaged during the summer storms and needed to be removed,” said Mayor Jeffrey M. Lanigan. “This year, we’re hoping to find another special tree that can become a beautiful part of Rome’s holiday tradition.”
Residents, property owners and community members who have a tree that may be a good fit, or who know of one that may be available for donation, are encouraged to submit your Christmas Tree Donation Nomination Form below.
